Amrita Mishra, PhD is a sociologist and postdoctoral researcher in LaRCH. Her current research, mentored by Dr Tania Bubela, examines efforts to enhance the precompetitive space in mouse-model genomics. From 2009-2011 Amrita was a researcher at the Department of Bioethics, Dalhousie University. Her work on the social implications of HPV vaccination for Canadian minors was funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Her PhD (Sociology, 2008, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India) examined work-authority patterns in Indian molecular biology laboratories. During her doctoral work, she was awarded fellowships by the Indian Council of Medical Research, the University Grants Commission of India, and the Austrian Academic Exchange Service.
